Reviewed: Gossard Allure

Hi, my darling readers! I have been buying lingerie like a fiend in preparation for more reviews, so expect any of those to come soon.

The Allure is part of Gossard’s latest collection, and it caught my eye because of the bright color and overall shape. What wasn’t obvious fro the catalog was the amazing detailing on the cups, which became apparent when I pulled the set out of the package and was immediately taken with the design.

I also didn’t know it was padded, which was a pleasant surprise. I don’t own many padded bras because I don’t like heavy padding, but this one is definitely an exception. It fits very well in a 30DD, my usual sister size at the moment.

The Allure is supremely comfortable. I’ll happily wear it under most items of clothing (that are fairly opaque, as the color is very bright and will show through tops that are either very light or semi-sheer). The applique on the cups doesn’t show through as much as I thought it would, it’s actually barely noticeable unless you’re looking for it.

The wires are relatively narrow and firm, meaning there’s no bendy-ness like Mimi Holliday’s or Tutti Rouge’s. The cups are right between projected and shallow, so I can see this style working for a lot of people.

I get the slightest orange-in-glass effect on the left cup, as you can see in the photos, but that doesn’t affect the fit. The back has Gossard’s signature gateway closure, but this time they added boning to it, which I found to be more secure and supportive.

Behold: The least-flattering photo of all time

The matching underwear are also a good fit, but are almost a size larger than my other Gossard XS undies, which makes me think they changed the fit of them. They also have a higher rise, making them just slightly too roomy. I hope this change is exclusive to this set and isn’t the new fit of the underwear.

I love the sheer mesh on the cups and straps. Having them that wide is quite comfortable, and the mesh gives a full coverage fit and keeps everything in place. Its unique shape makes it stand out among all of my other bras, and I see this style becoming one of my favorites. I do wish I got a bit more cleavage like the model has, but I’m fairly used to not having anything there, so that’s not a big thing.

I highly recommend this bra to anyone in the market for full coverage support and to anyone who’s looking for something fun and pretty.

Have you tried any similar Gossard styles? Which of the new season are you most looking forward to? Let me know down below!

Until next time,

  1. I like the look of this set. I have never heard of Gossard before and will have to do some more research on them.
