I come to you today with a set that I’ve previously tried in the underwired version. That one didn’t go so well, but Lonely had a flash sale and long story short, now I have the non-wired version in a 30D and size S briefs. This post will be a review as well as a comparison between the underwired and non-wired.
The Lulu features the same velvet strapping as the underwired Lulu, and has the same criss-cross back. The cups are stretch lace with elastic trimming, which eliminates any gaping that you might have when you’re moving around.
I really only have good things to say about this set. I love how comfortable it is, something the underwired Lulu was lacking for me. I like the look of this one better as well, and I think it’s because it has less coverage than the underwired version.
Being a gal with broad shoulders, I’m always a bit worried about straps. Since the bra straps are fully adjustable, that really wasn’t an issue, and I can see this piece being worn whether you, like me, have broad shoulders, or whether you’re on the petite side.
The velvet straps are very stretchy, but support wasn’t an issue for me (and rarely is, being a 30D). If you have a bigger chest, you might find that the stretch lace and stretchiness of the straps isn’t preferable.
The shape is relatively pointy, but I think that’s because it’s just a touch too small, causing the slightest quad-boob and compresses my chest a bit. I wear the Lulu under a loose-fitting tank to let the straps show, so the pointiness isn’t a problem for me. I’d probably be better off sizing up to a 30DD, but they don’t make that size in this style, so it looks like I’ll be sticking with the 30D.
The briefs are really comfortable as well, and fit true to size. The velvet straps are hardly noticeable, and don’t cut in whatsoever.
In short, I’m in love. The breathable power mesh and stretch lace are supremely comfortable and it’s a unique addition to my bra wardrobe. I get a lot of compliments when I wear it, and it makes a plain tank top or t-shirt look a lot more interesting with the straps peeking through. I’m very happy with it and will definitely be buying more in the coming season. With any luck, Lonely will expand their size range and I’ll be able to get a 30DD.
As always, thank you for reading!
Until next time,
